VillainROM 5.02

Version 5.02 - NO WIPE

VillainROM 5.02 is the latest release of my 2.1 port for the GSM HERO. It’s ported from the CDMA Hero, so is clearly designed with the Hero’s hardware in mind. It’s fast; very, fast.

5.02 CHANGELOG:

- Added WORKING (no more +, 1 or 7 bug in the Dialler!) HUGE thanks to both LuffarJohn & Revoked, who both provided fixes for this at almost exactly the same time. Brilliant work guys!

- Added Livewallpaperpicker.apk for those who want to play.

That is all..... Thursday will see the next release - Friendstream and more, I hope!

I believe there’s also an issue with certain long telephone numbers that start with anything other than 0.
[NOTE – THIS WORKS FINE ON UK NUMBERS STARTING WITH 0]

- 3D rotate bug in 3D gallery
- Friendstream missing : Will be added later as a small fix.

• Turn on GPS.
• Reboot.
• Enjoy.

[GSMROM] 30/03/10 - VillainROM 5.01: CDMA Hero 2.1 Port for GSM HERO - BETA

Version 5.01 - NO WIPE RELEASE

VillainROM 5.01 is the latest release of my 2.1 port for the GSM HERO. It’s ported from the CDMA Hero, so is clearly designed with the Hero’s hardware in mind. It’s fast; very, fast.
Please note that this version is still in Beta. There are a couple of very annoying bugs in the build.

5.01 is a minor re-build of the ROM - which will provide a base for all future no-wipe releases.


CHANGELOG:

- Re-themed the whole thing to Stock Rosie
- Added the fix for DMAgent
- Added Titanium Backup to /Data (If you get a FC when using it on first boot, persevere. It will work)


RUN A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING

So… to the NEGATIVES:

- Do not flash this rom if your contact’s numbers are stored with a + at the beginning. The ROM, as it’s from the CDMA Hero, Sprint seem to have added some assisted call settings. Specifically, it changes the + at the beginning of a number to a 011.

Hi! 
This ROM has been built with cyanogen sources 2.1 (sdk7), with the addition of my customizations and optimization. The next release will bring this ROM to be very complete, faster and stable.


I worked on A2DP for try it work.
this is proof then flash the rom and post 


I'm not responsable if you bricked your phone, data lost or something else. You have to always do an nandroid backups' before updating.

Known Bugs:

Instructions:

1.Wipe date, cache and ext partition
2.New ext partition (if you want to enable apps2sd)
3.The Flash ROM
4.Reboot


to enable apps2sd from a command prompt:

adb remount
adb shell
mkdir / system / sd
apps2sd on
reboot


It's highly recommended restarting a second time to allow the system to settle down.
It would be better to wait 30 seconds after the start of the device to permit full loading of the system, even if the lock screen is already visualised.

[GSMROM] 29/03/10 - VillainROM 5.0: CDMA Hero 2.1 Port for GSM HERO - STABLE BETA

The post got the original name, which is long, but now everybody can see, that it is a GSM Hero ROM, a ported ROM from the CDMA ; )
So don't be afraid. I tested it, and it's nice. It is fast, and Mr. Nprussel wants to upload the 5.01 in a few hours.
Only big bug is that sometimes it adds 011 to the beginning of the phone number, but he is fixing it ; )

Great news people! This is a port FOR THE STANDARD GSM HERO, taken from a FINAL leak of the Sprint Hero 2.1 build. It boasts amazing speed, fully working hardware... the works. This is as close to the Hero 2.1 Official ROM as we're going to see. I've had a lot of support in getting this together, but I think this is a pretty excellent release; at least, it will be when it's 100% working.

Currently, it's in BETA; so expect a few bugs. If you spot anything, please report it in the BUGTRACKER

Definitely Working/Current Features:

- EXTREMELY FAST - Fastest 2.1 ROM YET

Known Bugs right now:

- Graphical glitch when sending contact types (the theme - which I didn't pick btw - is causing this... fixing tonight)
- MMS Not working - RESOLVED
- Dialler issue. Anyone with there numbers stored as +44, etc... will not be able to dial from contacts. It will switch the + to 011. Solution is to either change the country code to 00 instead of +, or wait until I figure out how to fix it.


I am currently working on the fixes for this ROM. If you're a developer and find the fixes, please contact me...

1. Uninstall current version of Titanium Backup from your phone

2. Download from here: Download

3. Place file on your SD Card

4. Install using Apk installer

5. Voila! Titanium Backup works... I don't know how.. but it does.

I take no responsibility for anything bad that could happen. That's just the way it is!

Based on the ported WWE 2.1 Legend dump. Built for my own pleasure - but it's so stable that others might find it usefull as well. Removed most of the Rosiestuff (couldn't find a Legend port without Sense and as I'm not a fan of it), so it's fast! Kept the HTC lockscree, HTC Dialer and HTC keyboard (because I like them).

WORKING LIST:
Everything, really. Busybox, Video, Camera +++ It's stable and I use this on a daily basis myself.

ADDED:

KNOWN ISSUES:
Some rosie stuff still remain, will remove them eventually, as soon as I get the time to look into it!
Gallery3D rotation bug !
Connection to computer (solved this by adding the Mount USB app by - use it when you connect it to the computer, and your sd card will be mounted)!
Apps2sd doesn't work with ext4 partitions

GET THE ROM HERE!

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Nandroid Backup
2. Full wipe
3. Flash the ROM
4. Follow the setup wizard
5. Use Spare Parts and set transitions to FAST, and you'll be flying.
6. Restore/Install all apps
7. Have fun!

this project was planned to port OpenEclair from G1 to Hero.
but I faced a lot of problems. so this ROM is to bring some good stuff from OpenEclair, with some modifications

-OpenGL works great. (games work better than stock 1.5 with me)
-Gallery3D from Nexus one. ( but the rotate bug still exist )

1-make sure you have this Radio (63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 - download)
2-reboot into bootloader and do Nandroid backup
3- Wipe data (+ext partition if you used apps2sd before)
4- Flash the ROM

test and tell me how it goes please
