VanillaEclair 3.2 "Let me put a smile on that face"

by RaduG:

...this is the fastest and most stable vanilla 2.1 out here.

NOTE: From 3.1 I won't be supporting any issues if you're using JIT. If you're using it I assume that you are an experienced user. This ROM gives you enough performance, and you won't feel a performance boost after flashing JIT anywhere else than Linpack.

See posts #2 and #3 for more info related to the ROM. Discussions about 3.2 start from here.

Based on the latest 2.6.29 sources, provided by behnaam. Thanks.

Changelog:
- fixed battery issues
- added a few modules
- fixed auto brightness(it seems that this works only for newer phones)
- added EXT4 support

I would also like to say thanks to all users that have been reporting bugs, creating bootanimations and posting fixes. You have helped me improve this! You are great!

For info regarding overclocking, battery and such read posts #2 and #3.

Features:
- GPS & A-GPS
- 100% working youtube
- 100% working camera
- 100% working gallery
- facebook sync(100%)
- busybox
- root
- a quite large APN list
- VPN
- HUGE performance

Benchmark results * without JIT, CPU@768MHz:
- Linpack: 3.35MFolps
- Neocore with sound: 30.1FPS
- Neocore without sound: 33.3FPS

Issues:
- A2DP(will be fixed soon)

If you're not using A2SD, you might get an insufficient storage error when trying to install apps from market. You can fix that in two ways:
1. wipe again after flashing the ROM
2.
Quote:
adb shell
chown system.system /data/app

What's next?
- OTA updater after everything is 100% stable (if you can help me please let me know)
- A2DP, button lights
- backport BFS
- froyo

VillainROM 6.1.0 - UPDATED

by Pulser:

A wipe of dalvik-cache is required - this is a patch to be installed on top of VillainROM 6.0.0 or 6.0.1
if you are coming from anything else than VillainROM6 you must wipe data as well!

VillainROM 6.1 Changelog
- USB Tethering added for sharing internet with PC
- Friendstream added with widget
- Twitter and facebook fixed with integration to friendstream
- Added multi-language support (wipe needed to enable)
- Added kendon’s new kernel, which is similar to ben#23, including compcache & BFS
- Updated superuser version
- Updated youtube app
- Added Adobe official PDF reader (much faster than stock HTC one)
- Added Right-to-left character support thanks to genich1971 on xda-developers
- Sim Toolkit added
- HTC_IME mod from xda-developers added to /system/app
- Added VPN modules for encryption etc.
- Added echo fix
- Removed limit of 10 recipients for an SMS (so we’re ready for New-Year texts)
- Added Hebrew font support
- Loopback mounting is enabled and tested

Via OTA updater (shortly) or from ota/FinalVillainROM6.1-Patch-signed.zip

md5 8c81e94e1721715701a9154703ab959e

Note - for the compcache script: just type "compcache" to see stats, "compcache on|off" in adb shell or ConnectBot (execute "su" first)
to enable disable on the fly. Thanks to behnaam for his kernel sources, which this kernel from kendon is based on.

For a good CPU Overclocking app, check SetCPU from XDA, which is free for members over there.
The kernel supports overclocking up to 825MHz, although clocks above 710MHz are likely to fail.
Try on your own risk, if it fails pull the battery.

Also remember that you need to wait a few minutes after boot for performance to get as good as it does.

[FROYO 2.2] [ N1 Froyo FRF50 Port] by robin04:

Hi guys

Whereas the great impatience of many people I decided to make the port N1 Froyo from cdma hero (thanks zenulator ).
At the time this port is very very buggy, then, is for illustration purposes only, for now.
if you're curious you can download and play around
I used the kernel of my latest release with OC. Board to use overclocking widget so that the system is more fluid.

I'm not responsable if you bricked your phone, data lost or something else. You have to always do an nandroid backups' before updating.

THIS ROM IS ONLY FOR GSM HERO

What works:
-New Launcher2
-2.2 Google Apps (haven't tested them all)
-Keypad/Trackball leds

Not working:
-Data

Instructions:
1.Put the package Androbin_froyo_2.2 in your SDCard.
2.Recovery mode

It's highly recommended restarting a second time to allow the system to settle down.

to optimize the performance of your device follow these threads:
spare parts/overclock and autokiller manager

I worked on A2DP for try it work.
