Hey (I'm new to flashing ROMS), so since I'm using SenseHERO 2.2 right now I just do a Nandroid Backup then flash from SD, right? Also, If I do this will it wipe all my settings/apps that I downloaded while using 2.2?

ReplyDeleteif you don't wipe data and dalvik, than you won't loose settings; but sometimes you loose 1-2 apps like twitter, stock, teeter...
And if you read the post, you can see, that coming from SenseHero 2.2 doesn't need wipe.
So if you flash 2.1 B3, ideally you won't loose any apps or settings, just a few bugs : )

ReplyDeleteI tried to flash this rom over the SenseHero 2.2 (Without any wipe) and the installation was abourted over again. I tried to flash it after wiping the system ang it was abourted again, only after wiping the system and the Dalvik I managed to install it. However, it was very laggy and not smooth at all so I rolled my Hero back to the SenseHero 2.2.
always make sure when you flash you wait a couple of minutes and restart the phone so everything can settle down

ReplyDeleteHaven't tried BT yet, other than that the build is great. No issues so far. Upgraded from 2.2, no wipe, all went smoothly.
ReplyDeleteWell, there're some gaps in localization (some apps, labels, texts are still in english while I defaulted to another language) but it doesn't make me feel like giving up living w/this ROM :)

I've been trying to install this without wiping (had to re-download stuff when I rooted (a hassle), never backed up before. Want to avoid re-downloading stuff/contacts since they never import from SIM).
ReplyDeleteAnyway, near the end of installation I get (done this 3 times now) "E:Failure at line 391: copy_dir PACKAGE :data DATA:" and "installation aborted"
It hangs on restart after attempts so I have to nandroid recover...
I don't know what can cause it.

Second question, just flashed your B3 rom and my software info says 2.1. previously it was 2.2. is that OK?
ReplyDeleteYes that's ok. The developer changed the name of the Rom to SenseHero 2.1 instead of 2.2 because the rom is based on android 2.1 and people were getting confused.
ReplyDeleteI have an issue with google navigation. It wont open the navigator icon or the map icon. Any ideas?

try to redownload the rom and still got it, but it did start to install and about half way through it failed
any ideas how to fix this?

is it me or does the Camera look green even on the b3 update?
ReplyDeletealso the weather widget does not seem to pick up my location unless i am conected to a wirelss network, it does not work of the mobile network. Part from that it seem good, better than waiting for the update that never comes From HTC.

ReplyDeletesensehero 2.1 b3 gives me small squares on arabic txt so it has lost the arabic support that was there in sensehero 2.1.
ReplyDeleteI hv gone back to initial 2.1. it had arabic fonts and after adding arabic keyboard from market atleast i had almost full arabic support.

I only get English as language. How can I get multi language support?
ReplyDeleteSince I flashed the new kernel update, my phone occasionally wakes from standby with the screen flickering a bright purple hue, and sometimes won't wake from standby at all unless I press the buttons numerous times.

but you can try the MMSZap app, it worked for me just fine. It rewrites the hardcoded settings.

How can I change my language to dutch? I tried to in the settings menu but the only option is English?! In the changelog I can see that there is multilanguage support? How to get it?

I also had the purple screen once in a while. I have wiped my phone and then I updated the kernel then a wipe again. Afther that I flashed the rom and it seems that the purple screen is gone.

Update .. I just love this rom its super brilliant... If stickman keeps the updates coming I aint going anywhere near the official roms

LWP-Disabler_update_signed.zip If you want to unistall it
as I said it will make your live wallpapers work but your weather animations will act funny and I chose weather animations over the live wallpapers although Its a cool feature I wanted :)

ReplyDeleteThe purple screen/not coming back from black screen properly is likely because your phone underclocks too low. Try raising it a bit (set 266000 as lowest in OverClock widget), at least that worked for me.
