Version 5.1 - FULL WIPE REQUIRED FOR MOST! (some have it working without...)
VillainROM 5.1 is the latest beta of my port of Damageless' CDMA 2.1 near-final leak, but for the GSM HERO. It’s ported from the CDMA Hero, so is clearly designed with the Hero’s hardware in mind. It’s fast; very, fast. Probably the fastest 2.1 Sense ROM available. It does have its bugs though.
05/04/10 - 5.1 CHANGELOG:
Perma-sync to facebook accounts fixed
- Added HTC's 2.1 new & improved keyboard with Voice Input - also, check the keyboard options
- Added AOSP keyboard as an option
- Added Cyanogen Nexus Blue bootscreen
- MMS FIX (Test please)
- Fixed Hardware Button lights not working
- Fixed graphical glitch on contacts, etc
- FIXED ROTATION BUG in GALLERY 3D!!! (at laaaaast!)
- Probably more.... I'm forgetful!
5.02 CHANGELOG:
- Added WORKING (no more +, 1 or 7 bug in the Dialler!) HUGE thanks to both LuffarJohn & Revoked, who both provided fixes for this at almost exactly the same time. Brilliant work guys!
- Added Livewallpaperpicker.apk for those who want to play.
RUN A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING
So… to the NEGATIVES:
- Friendstream not working when installed automatically. I will upload the modified, ported APK today - please try manual install!
- Streaming issue - working on fix as next highest priority
Definitely Working/Current Features:
- Busybox
- Rooted
- WIFI
- Bluetooth/GPS
- Speed tweaks/cleaned boot.img
- EXTREMELY FAST - Fastest 2.1 ROM YET
- Launcher 2 works - just push it.
- Some LIVE WALLPAPERS WORK - only if you turn off Sense and use Launcher
- Network Location working 100%
- Automatic Brightness works
- All apps in market
